Heat

Load the drum to no more than three-quarters full

An overloaded washing machine can't circulate water and detergent properly. Air dry where possible - always in the shade

Air drying is the gentlest and most effective way to preserve Aromiq™ scent after the wash. Where the dryer uses aggressive heat to rapidly evaporate water - taking fragrance molecules with it - air drying lets the garment dry slowly, giving the perfume-grade molecules time to settle deep into the fibre structure as they dry. The result is a scent that is noticeably stronger and more complex than dryer-dried equivalents.

One important caveat: always air dry in the shade. Direct sunlight causes UV degradation of fragrance molecules - the same process that fades coloured fabric over time. A breezy, shaded spot indoors or outdoors is ideal. The garment should smell significantly better for it.

For synthetics especially

Activewear, jersey, and synthetic blends come out of a well-loaded wash nearly dry. Running them through a hot dryer cycle is not only unnecessary - it actively degrades both the fibre and the fragrance bond. Pull cotton and linen out of the dryer slightly damp
